Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemistry, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria - Nigeria. He was a Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate Scholar at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria - Nigeria. He is currently a Professor at the Chemistry Department of the Nigerian Defence Academy. He joined the services of the department in September 1995 as Lecturer II and worked tirelessly to rise to the enviable rank of Professor of Chemistry (Organic and Natural Product) in October 2008. He is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN), a Fellow of the Institute of Chattered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON), Member, Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), Member, American Chemical Society (MACS), Member and Former Secretary of Rotary Club of Kaduna – Tudun wada.
Professor Okeniyi has carried out extensive researches in the area of organic and natural product chemistry and published over 60 refereed journal articles and several chapters in different books, peer reviewed numerous books and journal articles, co-edited 2 books, and delivered several academic planning policy-oriented lectures to Registrars and Directors of Academic Planning in Nigerian Universities. His publications have received positive reviews and most of the articles were published in various journal houses and University Press in Nigeria, Pakistan, India, South Africa, the United States of America, United Kingdom and Canada. He has won a number of individual research grants, including those from the Third World Academy of Science (TWAS), the Nigerian Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) and the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship.
He is currently involved with an international essential oil research group in researching into systematic analysis of the essential oil profiles of some poorly studied Nigerian and African potent medicinal and aromatic plants and herbs. He has on-going research collaborations with institutions like Harvard University, Walter Sisulu University, Mthatha, South Africa, University of Johannesburg, South Africa, University of Ghana, Legon and the University of Manchester, England. His contribution to scholarship is mainly seen in his ability to break down disciplinary boundaries in explaining the complexities of the analytical potency, phytochemistry and essential oil profiles of poorly studied Nigerian and African medicinal and aromatic plants and herbs.
Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi served in various Administrative capacities at the Nigerian Defence Academy. He was one time Head of Chemistry Department (HOD) (2006 – 2008), Director, Academic Planning Unit (DAP) (2008 – 2012) and also served as the first and the only indigenous professor to rise to the position of Acting Academy Provost (2012 – 2015); a position equivalent to that of a Vice Chancellor in Conventional Universities). He has served the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) in different capacities. He was at various times the Kaduna Chapter Assistant Secretary, (2000 – 2004), Publicity Secretary, (2004 – 2008), and the Chairman of the Chapter (2006 – 2011). He equally served the CSN at the National Executive Council, as National Publicity Secretary (2007 – 2011), Deputy Vice President, North West (2011 – 2014), National Vice President, (2014 – 2017). He is currently the 14th President of the Society (2017 – Date).
His hobbies include traveling, driving, reading, photography and computer games. He is happily married to his beautiful and amiable wife, Mrs. Joy Kikelomo Okeniyi and are both blessed with sons and daughters
Prof. Victor Obinna Njoku, hails from Umueziogwu Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Prof. Njoku is a Professor of Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Imo State University, Owerri. He is the Head of the Department of Chemistry (2012–Date) and formerly Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science (2011–2012) of the same University. He studied at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto; University of Ibadan, Ibadan and Federal University of Technology, Owerri where he obtained the degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Hons.), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), respectively, specializing in Physical Chemistry. Prof. Njoku also holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science. He later proceeded to the University of Science, Malaysia where he did his Postdoctoral research and training between August 2010 and August 2011. He is a distinguished and erudite scholar and has to his credit several academic articles published in reputable journals, technical publications and has published many mainline books. Prof. Njoku is a Chartered Chemist of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON); Fellow, Chemical Society of Nigeria; member, American Chemical Society (ACS); member, Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC); He is also a member of the Owerri Recreation Club. Prof. Njoku is currently the National Secretary of Chemical Society of Nigeria and has served the Society in many other capacities including National Assistant Secretary (2014-2017). Prof. Victor Obinna Njoku is married to Dr. (Lady) Chioma Obinna-Njoku of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri and they are blessed with children.
Joseph Edeki Imanah was born on the 3rd June, 1962 in Uokha, Owan-East Local Government Area of Edo State. After his post primary Education at Azama College, Otuo, he worked briefly with the Nigerian Port Authority, Port Harcourt between 1979 and 1981. By 1984, he earned the Nigerian Certificate in Education in Biology/Chemistry at credit level. He went further to receive the B.Sc (Ed) Degree in chemistry with Second Class Honours Upper Division, M.Sc (Industrial Chemistry) in 1995 and Ph.D Degree in Industrial Chemistry with bias in Polymer Chemistry and Technology in 2003 from University of Benin, Benin-City.
He was appointed Lecturer III in Polymer Technology Department, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in 1996 and promoted to Chief Lecturer in 2010. At the Polytechnic, he has taught generations of students and he is reputed and respected for the unique style and clarity of his lectures.

Isah Yinusa (PhD) was a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State between 1997 and 2013 before transferring his services to the Federal University Lokoja in December 2013 as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. Degrees in Organic Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria in the year 2013 and 2007 respectively. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from Bayero University, Kano in 1994. He is a professional Teacher with his Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in 2003. His academic interest is not restricted to Chemistry education alone; he has a Diploma in Computer Science owing to his intellectual prodigy and special interest in Information Communication Technology (ICT). He is a member of various professional bodies/associations among which are; Fellow/Member, Chemical Society of Nigeria, Member, Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria and Member, Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria.
He has served in various capacity as a member of Chemical Society of Nigeria, among which are; Public Relation officer Kogi State Chapter of CSN (2000 to 2003), Secretary, Kogi Chapter of CSN 2004 to 2007, Deputy Vice President North Central of CSN (2014 to 2017) and National Assistant Secretary of CSN (September 2017 to date). He has equally served as a member of organizing committee in the inauguration of the newly constituted board of trustees of CSN in Abuja. Also contributed immensely in the successful hosting and organization of the 2015 annual international conference of CSN in Abuja. He and the Nassarawa chapter of CSN successfully organize the first ever zonal conference of CSN in Nassarawa in 2016

Prof. Gloria Ukalina Obuzor was born on 22nd April, 1954 in Ahoada in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State to Mr Upadibe Israel Ekpahulu Ideozu of Umu-Eyekele Kindred of larger Umu-Akpa family of Ahoada Town and Mrs. Rhoda Ideozu of larger Umu-Akpa family of Odiabide Town all in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State (both late).
Prof. Obuzor had her secondary education at Holy Rosary Secondary School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State with a Shell, BP scholarship, a B. Sc. in Chemistry at University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington, D. C., USA with a River State Government Scholarship, an M. Sc. at University of Port Harcourt (Uniport), Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria with Uniport Partial Sponsorship and a Ph. D. at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, UK with Commonwealth Scholarship. She served her National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in 1981 at the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, University of Port Harcourt and was retained by the University after her NYSC service as a Graduate Assistant. She went through the rank and file to become a Professor in 2012. Her major research interests are in: Organic synthesis, Phytochemistry and Oenology. She has passion for product development and she is the proud producer of Ukalina Wines (White and Red). Her product liquid soap with modified chemical content won the first prize in an all Nigerian University Research Competition organized by the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) in 2011 during the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011). Her products: Ukalina wine won the first position while her waste to wealth product took the second position in 2016 during the International Conference, Workshop and Exhibition of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) titled “Garden City 2016”
Prof. Obuzor the current Head of Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry was also Head of Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry for two months and Chairman Faculty of Science Welfare Committee has served University of Port Harcourt in several capacities as member: Junior Staff Committee, Housing Committee, Research Fair Committee, and Representative of Faculty of Science at Faculty of Education. She has also served different Universities in several capacities as external examiner for Undergraduate, Postgraduate Programs and External Assessor for Professorial candidates. She is the Vice-President, Federation of African Society of Chemists (FASC); a member of American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Committee of Chemical Education of IUPAC. Prof. Obuzor who joined the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) in 1986 became a life member in 1991 and a Fellow in 2008. She was the first female Chairman of CSN (2003) and is the first female President of CSN in its forty-six years of existence but the 13th President of CSN. She has served the Society in the following capacities:

Prof. Obuzor is happily married to Arc. Nnamdi O. Obuzor and their marriage is blessed with six children (two girls and four boys).
She presented 143rd inaugural lecture of the University of Port Harcourt on the 16th November 2017 is an amiable, humble, God-fearing Academic, a pacesetter, the Vice-President of Federation of African Society of Chemists (FASC), the “FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT OF CHEMICAL SOCIETY OF NIGERIA (CSN) IN ITS FORTY-SIX YEARS OF EXISTANCE AND FIRST FEMALE PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY IN RIVERS STATE”.
Prof. Rufus Sha’Ator is a professor of Chemistry at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (FICCON) and Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN), Member of Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), Associate Member, African Network for the Chemical Analysis of Pesticides and other Pollutants (ANCAP), Nairobi, Kenya, one-time Member, American Chemical Society (ACS), Member, Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN) his research traverses environmental/analytical chemistry, waste management and general environmental management and sustainability. An alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Prof. Sha’Ato has also worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Chemistry at Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada under the auspices of a CIDA-sponsored project that established the Center for Agrochemical Technology (CAT) in University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State; he collaborates at the Centre as Lead Researcher in the search for phyto-pesticides and other environmentally friendly agrochemical technologies. To date, in his career, he has successfully supervised 11 Ph.D and more than 23 M.Sc students, publishing over seventy (70) peer-reviewed papers in responsible national and international Journals. Prof. Sha’Ato has also served as consultant on DFID and World Bank Projects in the areas of waste and general environmental management, as well as water use. In the midst of this busy schedule, Prof. Sha’Ato found time to serve the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) in the following capacities: Chairman, Benue State Chapter of the Society (2002-2007); National Assistant Secretary (North-East) (Sept. 2007-September 2011); Acting National Secretary, (2010 –2011); National Secretary, (2011- 2014). He was elected Deputy Vice-President (North Central Zone) for a three-year term in September, 2017. A widely traveled man (Africa, Europe and America), his mantra is God-Man-Environment and believes in People, Performance, Reputation and Healthy Environment as the essence of human existence. Prof Sha’Ato is married, reads widely and likes traveling, folk music, poetry, nature watch and photography.
Dr Alfred Ikpi Onen (an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry) was born into the family of late Chief Williams Onen Okoi Eyum and Mrs Arit Onen Okoi of Ugep, in Yakurr LGA of Cross River State of Nigeria.
Dr Onen holds BSc (Hons) in Chemistry (passed with a Second Class Upper Division), from University of Calabar in 1984; MSc (Physical Chemistry) from University of Ibadan in 1993; PhD (Applied Physical Chemistry) from University of Jos in 2011 and PGDE (Admin & Planning) from University of Maiduguri in 2000.

Dr Onen Alfred Ikpi is a Fellow (FCSN) and the immediate past chairman (IPC) of Chemical Society of Nigeria, CSN Adamawa Chapter. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Nigeria, FICCON; a member of Polymer Institute of Nigeria, MPIN and a member of Science Teachers’ Association of Nigeria, MSTAN.
He served as the Chairman of Cross Rivers Peoples’ Forum, CROSPEF, Borno/Yobe Chapter from 1998 to 2004. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Bayero University, Kano (1978 -1983), Diploma in Chemical Pretreatment Systems from Brent Europe in U.K., Diploma in Spraying Equipment Techniques in DeVilBiss, Ransburg, U.K., Higher Diploma in Marketing from University of Lagos in 1995 and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos (2004).

He headed various divisions of the company until November 2002 when he bowed out to face Mabolc International Ltd fully on Pretreatment Systems, Corrosion treatment and Paints Manufacturing.
Majek Okunola Owoo’s life revolves around service to humanity, dedication to God and an undying passion to reposition youths and upcoming Chemists in a dynamic world of change by having a paradigm shift from limitations to an enlarged avenue of opportunities academically and industrially to effectively and efficiently carry out their professional responsibilities.

Dr Cynthia Nkolika Ibeto was born on the 10th of August 1982. She graduated with a BSc. degree (Industrial Chemistry) from University of Ibadan in 2004. In 2007 and 2010 she obtained her MSc. and PhD (both in Analytical Chemistry) from University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). She was an Academic Research Fellow of the National Centre for Energy Research and Development, UNN (September, 2008 to April, 2016) and is currently a Senior lecturer of the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, UNN. Her research area is in the field of Environmental/Analytical Chemistry. She has received a number of Scholarships/awards/travel grants notably Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund, Developing World Scholarship (United Kingdom), 2014 and Schlumberger Faculty for the Future Fellowship award (Netherlands), 2015.
She is a member of some Professional bodies: Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), Chemical Society of Nigeria (MCSN), Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (MICCON), Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (MSESN) and Organization of Women in Science for developing world (MOWSD).
