2015 National Chemistry Competition Result

The National Chemistry Competition is one of the major activities of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) Annual International Conference, workshop and Exhibition. This year, 2015, the competition was scheduled to be Computer Based Test (cbt), at ICT Hall of International Centre for Women Development, Abuja. Owing to some logistic challenges, it was later held at Top Rank Hotel, Area II, Garki, Abuja on Monday 7th September, 2015 at 6:00 pm, with paper and pen. Thirty three students from 17 chapters participated in the competition. Their performance is as shown in the table  below.

The best three students for the first three positions were given prize money of N25,000.00, for the first position. N20,000.00 for the second and the third position was given N15,000.00. All the other students were given consolation prizes. It is the policy of CSN to award a SCHOLARSHIP to the best student who studies CHEMISTRY in any University in Nigeria. This year 2015, the female student that took the second position was also awarded the scholarship to study chemistry in any University in Nigeria. This is because, since inception of the competition, this is the first time a female student came within first three positions. In these regard, AKPETI LOYALTY (male) and FATIMA IBRAHIM (Female) from Delta and Zaria Chapters respectively have this SCHOLARSHIP award in principle.
